I’ve been in Bangkok for the last few days, attending the SouthEast Asian Linguistics Society conference here at Chulalongkorn University. The campus is in the center of Bangkok and rather easy to get to. I was here a few months ago, so sort of know my way around, but the unlimited Internet on my phone via a SIM card I picked up at the airport has been rather handy.
I’ve been hanging out with fellow linguists from the conference, learning about other languages, and enjoying the weather. Tomorrow morning early I catch a flight to India, where I’ll be doing fieldwork for a couple months, so next update will be from there. Here’s a pic of the conference venue:
